Welcome!
I am a PhD Candidate in Political Science at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. I study international political economy (IPE) and international relations (IR) with particular interests in global financial governance and the politics of financial stability. My dissertation research examines the political economy of global financial insurance and seeks to explain when and why governments in financial duress choose to use different financing strategies to manage their crises, focusing on the interplay between domestic politics and external signaling. I received an MA in Political Science from Harvard University in 2020, and a BA in Political Science and Spanish from UW-Madison in 2015. Beyond research and teaching, I coach competitive youth soccer and love to travel, play and watch sports, and read fiction. Please feel free to get in touch via email: amyren@wisc.edu.
